We are launching our second series of County Arts Council Community Forums throughout the county where civic leaders, directors from county arts councils, artists, art organizations and individuals passionate about the health of art in their community meet to discuss the possible formation of an arts council for San Diego County.
What is the value of a county wide arts council for San Diego?
San Diego County is a rich and varied tapestry of 18 cities and numerous unincorporated communities supplying residents and visitors with incredible museums, theaters, galleries, resorts, beaches, world class sports, restaurants and nightlife. We have amazing year-round weather and, according to the Watkins Research Group, one of the most popular destinations for convention and business travel in the country.
Did you know that San Diego County is one of seven counties in the state that does not have a county arts council to support their artists, arts organizations and cities?
